Puttalam District belongs to north - western province. The total land area of puttalam district is 3013km2 including several islands. Comprising of 4.6 the land area of the country, basically plain situated few feet above sea level. The Population is about 8 million. Puttalan District is bounded on the west by ocean , north by northern province east by Kurunegala district and south by Negombo .
